Hello, my name is Shirl Black. Pictured with me is my beautiful grand daughter Alejandra De-Lourdes Brown

Welcome to my home of the adorable snowball Maltese.

Please let me tell you a little about myself. I am a high school graduate of 1976, and was born and raised in Fairfax County, Virginia. I am quite a family oriented individual, and have many memories of my "younger years", and truly miss those "good ole days". Most of my best memories are visiting the beach every year since I was born. The sounds of peace and tranquility as the waves of the oceans tide were quite a passion of my parents, and God bless them both, those memories I will always hold close to my heart. My love for the serenity of the beach will always be where my heart will remain. Back in those days, people were allowed to have pets on the beach!! As many of you already know", there is no friend better then a loving pet, as they are truly" mans best friend". My love, admiration and breeding of the Maltese began over 10 years ago and grows stronger each year.
WHY THE MALTESE BREED?

The Maltese is celebrated as the most well mannered and amiable breed in the toy classification, and they are truly fascinating, charming, loving and fearless. The American Kennel Club officially opened its stud book for the Maltese in 1888.  The Maltese was first entered in shows within the miscellanous class, then moved to the non-sporting group, and finally settled into the toy group. The breed has been very fortunate to have had (and still has) many truly dedicated breeders and fanciers right from the beginning.

ABOUT THE TINIES "T-CUPS" OR TOY MALTESE

The Maltese has been bred and shown in England since the late 1800s. The breed is still quite popular there. The English and American Maltese are NOT identical; the American version is quite often finer boned and smaller, with a shorter muzzle and different coat texrure. (referred to as a "t-cup").  As more English and American Maltese are bred together, the chance of greater similarity will, of course, increase. The standards for the american standard Maltese approved by the AKC and Kennel Club of Great Britain is a toy dog, covered from head to foot with a mantle of long, silky, white hair. (standard is referred to as toy)  They are all a gentle mannered and affectionate, eager and sprightly in action, and despite their size; possessed of the vigor needed for the satisfactory companion.  I do have the smaller of the Maltese breed, both are  tinies (t-cups) or small toys.
